Successful antique shopping

Our eldest daughter has just come home from her first overseas trip. She went to New Zealand on a Contiki tour and had a ball. She now has the travel bug and is saving for Europe. We are so proud of her. She has a job she loves, is doing her degree part-time and is happy. Her sister is planning on joining her at uni next year and has one term left at school before the HSC takes over her life for a few months. We are getting used to life without the kids around.

As they are pretty much independent of us now we do have more time to do the things we love and after years of looking at antique dining tables and sideboards we went shopping on the weekend and finally made a decision. Last year we found some gorgeous dining chairs and now we have the table to match. What I love about the sideboard is that it is a 1920s bookcase but perfect for what we need. If I could find the camera I would take a photo.

I am currently reading The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty.

Hello Twitter

The last few days have been quite productive. I spent a lot of time thinking of ways to improve my social media skills. I tried Facebook a few years ago but it wasn't for me although I did enjoy playing scrabble. I do write comments on blog posts I like but needed to do more, it was time to join Twitter. After a glass of wine and some chocolate I sat down and created my account. I found lots of my favourite authors and bloggers and followed them. Some of them even followed me!

I now have to figure out what to tweet about. Any ideas?

I have just finished reading The House on Willow Street by Cathy Kelly. Can't wait for her next one.
